Where diamonds come from
The research on the formation principle and mechanism of my (diamond) is mainly completed by studying the internal inclusions and artificial simulation of high temperature and high pressure experiments.
My parents (mother rocks) are mainly kimberlite and potassium magnesium lamprophyre, which were discovered in 1866 (Kimberley, South Africa) and 1979 (Argyle, Australia). In other parent rocks such as garnet - pyroxene - mica gneiss or schist, meteorite pyroxene, etc., there are also small amounts of me produced as inclusions, but do not constitute economic benefits, and therefore are not mined and used commercially.
After studying me and the primary inclusions minerals inside me from different mines around the world, scientists found that I was born (formed) in an environment with a pressure of 4.5-6.0Gpa (equivalent to a depth of 150-200km) and a temperature of 1100-1500 ° C. Most of the mines that are currently being mined were mainly formed 3.3 billion years ago and between 1.2 and 1.7 billion years ago. (So I've been alone for a long, long time.)
In addition to the two primary deposits, I also have secondary deposit output. Diamond-containing kimberlite or potassium-magnesium lamprophyre exposed to the surface, through the wind and rain and other extragalactic forces and weathering, broken, in the water erosion, the broken original rock together with diamonds are taken to the river bed, and even the coastal zone deposit, forming river alluvial deposits and coastal alluvial deposits (that is, the secondary deposit of diamonds).
Representative origin
At present, there are about 20 countries that are commercially rich in diamonds, with an annual output of about 100-120 million carats, mainly exported by Australia, South Africa, Botswana, Congo and other countries - of which, the output of the entire Africa is half of the world's output, so it has also become the object of plunder of some illegal elements and organizations, resulting in the tragedy of "blood diamonds". (It's my fault it's too beautiful.)
Diamonds in China mainly come from Wafangdian in Liaoning Province, Mengyin in Shandong province and Ruanjiang in Hunan Province.
The diamonds of Wafangdian in Liaoning are of high quality and large output, which belong to the primary Kimberley mine, but they are suspended for some reason. Mengyin, Shandong Province is also a Kimberley primary mine, its gem-grade diamond content is low, but often produces large-grained diamonds, such as "Changlin diamond" is found here; The middle and lower reaches of Ruan River in Hunan Province are placer mines, with low diamond grade (the number of diamonds per ton or per hundred tons of mined ore, generally dozens of carats per hundred tons) and uneven varieties.
